Ellis was born and raised in Jackson and attended the University of Mississippi. He graduated from the Dallas College of Mortuary Science and graduated from the manager program at the National Foundation of Funeral Service.
Ellis followed in the footsteps of his father and grandfather in 1978 when he began his career in funeral service at Wright and Ferguson.
He served in every office of the Mississippi Funeral Directors Association including President in 1991. He served as the Mississippi Policy Board Representative to the National Funeral Directors Association and then he was elected to serve as an at large representative on the board of the National Funeral Directors Association in 1997 and 1998.
He is married to the former Jamie Roberts of Yazoo City, and has 3 grown children, Lori Stringer (Eric), Michael (Anna Harreld), John Wright and four grandchildren, Elizabeth Ann and Susannah Ellis Wright and Seth and Wright Stringer.
Ellis considers it to be an honor and a privilege when asked to serve the families of the greater Jackson area.

Tom grew up in Jackson, MS, and graduated from the University of Mississippi. After graduating he worked for Deposit Guaranty National Bank for 11 years. He joined the family business, Wright & Ferguson Funeral Home in 1988, and was actively involved in the Mississippi Funeral Directors Association. He served as president in 2000. In 2011, he moved to Houston, TX, to manage a funeral home and cemetery. He moved back to Mississippi in 2020 in order to work with Wright & Ferguson. He, and his wife Nancy, live in Madison and are members of First Presbyterian Church.

Michael Wright was born and raised in Jackson. He graduated from Jackson Academy and the Mortuary Science program at Holmes Community College.
He joined Wright and Ferguson as a full time Funeral Director in 2009. Michael is the fourth generation of Wrights in the funeral business following his great grandfather (Ellis), his grandfather (John), and his father (Ellis II).
Michael’s wife, Anna (Harreld) of Madison, share two daughters. They are active members of St. Joseph Church in Gluckstadt.
When asked about the experience of working at Wright and Ferguson, Michael responded: “I consider myself extremely blessed and proud to continue the family tradition of serving the families of Mississippi with Wright and Ferguson"

Connie is a graduate of Holmes Community College and has been a funeral director since 2007. She is a native of Pearl, MS and a current resident of Braxton. She considers it a privilege to serve others and is honored to be a part of a dedicated caring and compassionate team. In her free time, Connie and her husband Jerry enjoy spending time with family and spoiling their grandchildren.

Brian Perkins is a native of Brandon, MS. He graduated from Brandon High School and then Mississippi State University. He has been working at Wright and Ferguson Funeral Home since 1994 and has served as funeral director there since 2013.

G. R. (Ricky) Gray, D.Min, D.D.—Retired SBC pastor with over fifty years of service. He is again pastoring the Rock Hill Baptist Church, Brandon, for over three years. He is married to Jewell Faye (Pittman) Gray for the past fifty-one years, and he has worked with Wright and Ferguson Funeral Home since 1/2/2018.

Mr. Bill Ferguson has been married to his wife for over 60 years. They have 2 children, 6 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. He serves as a deacon and a Sunday school teacher at Salem Baptist Church. He is a retired head track and field coach at Hinds Community College. Mr. Ferguson also retired from being an Independent School Administrator. He has also a retired attorney and judge. Mr. Ferguson was also former Chairman Board of Trustees Mississippi of Youth Services.

Jane Hurt grew up in Clinton, graduated from Clinton High School and Mississippi College. She was a teacher for many years. She’s married to husband, Al Hurt who is a partner at Ballew Wealth Management. They have three children, Amanda Lollar, Dr. Jim Hurt, and Joel Hurt. They also have ten grandchildren. Jane has worked for Wright and Ferguson for more than twenty years.
