Robert (Bob/Bobby) Lamar Kelly, 67, passed away at his home in Denham Springs, Louisiana on March 24th 2021 surrounded by his family.
Bob was born June 11th 1953 in Jackson, Mississippi to Lamar (Sonny) Kelly Jr. and Mary Arehart Kelly of Raymond, Mississippi. He grew up in Raymond, Mississippi and lived there till the fall of 1991. He loved his family, old western movies, fishing at his father's pond, and helping at his father’s station growing up. He loved to attend his daughters dance recitals, his children’s school band concerts, plays, and attending his grandsons sports games.
He attended Mississippi State, Louisiana State, and Nichols State University majoring in Petroleum Engineering. He worked with Baker Hughes Inteq as a MWD field engineer for over 20 years then at Diversified Well Logging until 2021.
He is survived by his wife of 41 years Mandy Prine Kelly, four children Wendy Kelly Caillouet (Danny), Lamar Clay Kelly, Margaret (Maggie) Phala Kelly, and Cassi Delores Kelly, and his three grandsons Logan, Levi, and Leo Caillouet, his father Lamar (Sonny) Kelly, Jr., five siblings Sandra Kelly Martin, Lisa Kelly Larche (Mark), Virginia Turner Robbins (Danny), Elizabeth Turner Cox (Marty), and John Turner(Kari).
He is preceded in death by his mother Mary Arehart Kelly, step mother Jane Kelly, brother Ricky Kelly, grandparents Lamar Kelly Sr., Phala Cross Kelly, Clyde Arehart, and Martha Colmer Arehart.
Services will be held March 27th 2021 at Wright & Ferguson Funeral Home in Raymond, Mississippi. Visitation starts at 11:30am, service at 1:00pm. Burial to follow at Raymond Cemetery. Pastor Nick Hodges Officiating, lifelong friend Aubrey Barnette to speak, Pallbearers Mark Larche, Earnest Prine, Doctor Hiram Gatewood, Doctor Clarke Stewart, Terry McDonald, and Lee Thorton. Honorary Pallbearers Teddy Blair and Jimmy Morrison..
