RANDY L. MCCLELLAN

Randy L. McClellan

Randy Lee McClellan, 64, passed peacefully at his home in Madison on Sunday, February 9, 2020. Visitation will be held at Wright and Ferguson in Flowood, MS on Tuesday February 11 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. A Celebration of Life service will be held at the same location the following day at 11 a.m. with a short visitation beginning at 10 a.m.

Randy was born August 27, 1955 in Tupelo, MS to the late W.L. and Dorothy McClellan. He graduated from Tupelo High School in 1973 and after high school he studied business and graduated from Ole Miss. Upon completion of his degree at Ole Miss, he was called into ministry, ultimately graduating from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary.

It was out of his calling in the ministry that he met his wife Shelly, who he adored. They were married 38 years. Together they raised four children, Robert, Amy, Kris and Kyle. Randy was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, coach and friend. The best times of his life were spent with family, especially his grandchildren. It was not uncommon to find him attending his grandchildren’s sporting events because of the joy it brought him. He enjoyed all types of travel but mostly the time spent at the beach on family vacations. Randy was a member of Pinelake Church where he was actively involved in outreach through their Care Centers.

Though Randy was diagnosed with cancer he chose to make the most every day. He never gave up battling, never complained and lived life to the fullest. He was truly an inspiration to everyone he met.

Randy is survived by his wife, Shelly; sons, Robert McClellan (Lindsay), Kris McClellan, Kyle McClellan (Sarah); daughter, Amy McNeill (Scott) and 15 grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother, Danny McClellan (Amy); and sister, Barbara Davis (Ricky). The family wishes to express sincere thanks to Dr. Tammy Young, the staff at Jackson Oncology, as well as Hospice Ministries of Ridgeland for their compassionate care and support of Randy. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the V Foundation for Cancer Research at v.org
