Robert "Bob" Buie was born on February 2, 1936 in Bogue Chitto, Mississippi. As the youngest child of our Ira Lee, and William Clarence. He parted from this world into the kingdom of heaven on November 30th, 2019.
Bob lived many places throughout his life but spent the grand majority of it in Mississippi. Natchez, Clinton, Raymond, and Gautier all played significant roles in his and his family's lives. Bob graduated from Natchez High School in 1954 and enlisted in the United States Marine Corps immediately after. Bob went on to become an exemplary marine, serving in Korea and playing in the Marine band.
Bob came home and built his legacy, owning and operating many successful businesses. He raised a family of four children and spent the majority of his life married and dedicated to Myra Jane. Bob loved God, his family, and his country, and was devout Christian, devoted family man, and dedicated patriot every step of the way. He was always quick with a comforting word, a funny phrase, or a listening ear. He always found a way to bring comfort and joy to those who he spent time with. He's been the pillar of strength and love in our family and was looked up to by his children and grandchildren, serving as our role model and superhero in troubling times.
He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him, but always remembered and kept alive in our hearts.
Bob is preceded in death by his wife, Myra Martin Buie and his second wife, Vernona Black Buie.
Bob is survived by his children, Robert "Bobby" Earl Buie, Jr. (Claudia), Denise Buie Gable (Jerry), Robert Dale Buie and Melanie Buie; his grandchildren, Rob Buie, Jana Hunt, Dustin Brantley, Molly Granger, Brittany Buie and Dylan Brantley; ten great grandchildren; and his brothers, Rev. William Clarence Buie, Jr. and Rev. James W. Buie.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, December 4, 2019 in Clinton Cemetery.
