Obituary

Wilma Ammons, 92, passed away Tuesday, March 10, 2020 at her home in Jackson. Ms. Ammons was born in Magnolia, MS on February 11, 1928 to the late James Monroe Wilson and Eleanor Lane Wilson.

Ms. Ammons worked for Morrow Oil & Gas Company for many years. She was a lifelong member of Briarwood United Methodist Church. Wilma served on the Handicap advisory board for Governor William Winter. She was an active supporter of Holy Angels Residential facility in Shreveport, LA where her son resides. She was such a loving caring mom and so giving to others.

She is preceded in death by her parents, and husband, Samuel Chester Ammons.

Ms. Ammons is survived by her sons, Robert Wayne Ammons and James Bradford Ammons; daughter, Paula Thomas (Reid); grandson, Nic Thomas; and brother, C.M. Wilson (Gail).

Visitation will be from 12:00pm – 1:30pm on Friday, March 13, 2020 at Briarwood United Methodist Church, Jackson. Services will be held at 1:30 with interment to follow at Lakewood Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers the family request memorials be made to Holy Angels Residential facility in Shreveport, LA; Briarwood United Methodist Church, Jackson; or a charity of your choice.
