WWII veteran, William W. Kelly, Jr., celebrated 93 years before going on to be with the Lord. He was born on May 24th, 1927 to Edith Peiron Kelly and William W. Kelly, Sr. in Murphysboro, IL.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Rose Catherine Stevens, Pat Kelly and his first wife, Mary Freda Gillaspy Kelly.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Charlene Kelly, daughters, Mary Cheryl Marbury and Pamala Hughes Medeiros, son, William W. Kelly, III and Haden Hughes, seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
He joined the Navy at 17 and had two tours of duty as Captains Yeomen to China. He moved to Jackson, MS as an architect but started in 1958 Fluorescent Maintenance Service, FMS Lighting, with the green and yellow trucks servicing the lighting need of customers throughout the south. He was a member and deacon of Woodland Hills Baptist Church since 1958. He was a faithful husband, father, employer and friend to all who knew him. His own words tell it all about his integrity, "I have no regrets in life." He will be greatly missed by his friends and family, but he knew where he would be after passing from this life.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. on Tuesday, December 22, 2020 at Wright & Ferguson Funeral Home in Flowood, MS. A private family graveside service will be held on Wednesday, December 23, 2020 at Lakewood Memorial Park in Jackson, MS. Due to COVID – 19, social distancing and masks will be required.
