William R. Lynchard passed away Tuesday, January 11, 2022 at the Nichols Center in Madison, MS.
William was born on August 21, 1934 in Baltzer, MS to Edgar and Mary Lynchard. He grew up on a farm in the Mississippi Delta with his brothers Percy, Frankie, and Jerrell and his sister Frances.
William spent the majority of his adult life working in the grocery business, first managing stores for others, but eventually owning his own grocery store. He saw it as a mission field, an opportunity to love and serve others and tell them about Jesus.
He had a deep love for the Lord, his family, and his friends. Whether watching football or a movie or playing games, he always enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He enjoyed making people laugh with his infamous sayings, jokes, antidotes, or stories that he would share with friends, family or even strangers. He often used these to bring smiles to people's faces and open the door to share the gospel with those he met along the way.
He is survived by his children Kay Berryhill (Tom), Joan Coker (Jim), Will Lynchard (Linda), Ken Lynchard (Carlene), 12 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren, and by his sister Frances McCurley and brother Frankie Lynchard.
Visitation will be Friday, January 14, 2022 from 10:30-11:00 followed by service at 11:00 at Pocahontas Baptist Church, 4200 Kickapoo Road, Jackson, MS 39209. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Gardens Cemetery in Vicksburg, MS.
