Obituary

William Jackie "Jack" Estes, Sr. passed away Friday, December 24, 2021 at St. Dominic Hospital. The family will hold a private graveside service at Parkway Memorial Cemetery in Ridgeland.

He was born March 21, 1937 in Tupelo. He graduated from Tupelo High School where he was a drum major and played the baritone. He graduated from Ole Miss in 1959 and joined the MS Air National Guard, serving during the Berlin Crisis. Afterwards he received his Masters degree at MS College using the GI Bill. He was finance director at the Medicaid Commission until his retirement.

Jack was an active radio control modeler and was involved with local radio control clubs as well as being an enthusiast and owner of experimental aircraft and sports cars.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Vardaman & Erlie Estes; and brother, Charles Estes.

Jack is survived by his wife, Mary "Patty" Langston Estes; son, William Jackie "Bill" Estes, Jr.; daughter, Mary Elaine Estes; and several nieces and nephews.
