William "Bill" Edward Underwood, 76, passed way Thursday, June 20, 2019 at his home in Brandon. Visitation will be held Monday, June 24, 2019 from 11 am to 1 pm at Wright & Ferguson Funeral Home in Flowood. Services will be held at 1 pm in the funeral home chapel with interment to follow at Floral Hills Memory Gardens.

Born in Beaumont, Texas March 7, 1943 to William Bell Underwood and Myrtle Lee Brents Underwood. At the age of 18 he became a Christian. He graduated from Lagrange Senior High School and McNeese State University. After graduation he was employed by Louisiana Savings and Loan for six years; and then employed by Abbott Laboratories for 28 years until retiring April 1, 2001. William married Myrion Lambert Underwood August 3, 1963. He was blessed with two precious children; daughter, Lesley L. Underwood Day and husband, Steven A. Day; son, William Brent Underwood and wife, Michelle J. Underwood; five grandchildren, Matthew Edward Day and wife, Cayla S. Day, McKenzie L. Day, Adison R. Underwood, William Cole Underwood, Sarah G. Underwood; and two great-grandchildren, Charley A. Day and Sawyer E. Day. He is also survived by his sister, Peggy J. Underwood Guillory; and brother, Lonnie Wayne Underwood and wife Helen C. Underwood.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Over the years, he served as a deacon at a number of congregations. He was an Elder at Lake Harbor Drive Church of Christ. We thank God for our family, friends and brothers and sisters in Christ. Thank you for the support, love and prayers over the years. We look forward to spending eternity with you all. Special thanks to Belinda, Beatrice, Wanda and Corita, they will always be considered family and Sta-Home Home Health and Compassus Hospice.
