William H.
Buck, Jr.
April 8, 1951 – July 20, 2025
Dr. William Hollingsworth Buck, Jr.
William Hollingsworth (Bill) Buck, Jr., D.D.S. was born on April 8, 1951 in Shiprock, NM to Bobbye Ferguson Buck and Dr. William H. Buck and he passed away on July 20, 2025 at his home in Brandon, MS. Bill is survived by his loving wife, Ginger Moore Buck. They were soulmates from the moment they met and that continued throughout their life together. They were married over 54 years.
Bill was pre-deceased by his parents, his brother Gregory Edward Buck, sister Debbie Buck Johnson, as well as his grandparents. He always said he had a blessed family life and enjoyed growing up in a large family where there was love and laughter. He was also pre-deceased by his in-laws, Violas M. Moore and Doris Myers Moore, and by his brother-in-law, Carey Norris Moore, all whom he loved as his own.
Bill is also survived by his sister Becky Buck Arnold (Bobby), his brothers Robert F. Buck (Barbara), and Jim Buck, sisters-in-law Lila Moore Yerger (George), Bonnie Moore Houston (Jimmy), and brother-in-law Val Malone Moore (Nelda). Also, sisters-in-law Sheila Mangialardi Buck and Cindy Henderson Buck Berry. He was blessed with a score of nieces and nephews from both the Buck side as well as the Moore side of the family and he loved them all deeply. He had one uncle, Dr. Golan Buck (Vivian), and numerous cousins that shared many memories of growing up together. He loved his family with all his heart.
Dr. Buck was a dentist in the South Jackson and Flowood, MS areas for over 36 years. He graduated from Wingfield High School and completed his pre-dental studies at Mississippi State University before earning his D.D.S. from Emory University Dental School in Atlanta, GA. Bill enjoyed dentistry and had the best Dental Assistants and Dental Hygienist throughout those years in practice. Many of his patients became his good friends over the years. Dr. Buck was a member of the Mississippi Dental Association District IV, the ADA, and Alabama Academy of General Dentistry.
Bill served as a deacon at Hillcrest Baptist Church and later at Wynndale Baptist Church. He served on numerous church committees over the years. Currently he is a member at First Baptist of Fannin.
Bill enjoyed many hobbies including fishing, management of his land near Raymond, and in recent years he enjoyed relic hunting. He and Ginger enjoyed traveling to many wonderful places over the years and there are volumes of pictures to account for those fun trips. He considered himself to be very blessed and he lived a fulfilled life. He believed that God is his guide and looked forward to the day he would meet Jesus in person. Although that day came too quickly to suit his family, he is now enjoying the fruits of his labor here on earth. His demeanor was quiet and calm, and he had strong convictions from which he did not waver. He will be greatly missed.
