"Billy" Hall
October 17, 1946 – February 21, 2024
It is with great sadness that the family of William (Billy) J. Hall announce his sudden passing on Wednesday, February 21, 2024 at the age of 77.
Billy will be remembered by his loving wife of 51 years, Jeanneine Hall, and three children, Cherrie Barker (Tim), Renee Hall, and James (Cara) Hall; three grandsons, and a granddaughter that meant the world to him, Will and Ethan Barker and Cayson and Kalee Hall; along with numerous family and friends.
Billy was preceded in death by his parents, Morris and Mina Hall; and brother, Morris Hubert Hall Jr.
Billy was born in Vicksburg, Mississippi, where he developed his love and passion for baseball. He was a standout catcher and pitcher, and would achieve many accomplishments in the sport, including playing for Mississippi State University, and the Army while stationed in Okinawa, Japan. He obtained a Bachelor's of Science degree in Forestry from Mississippi State. Persuaded by his father, Billy became a tradesman at Plumbers and Pipefitters Local 619, where he finished out his career as a pipefitter traveling the country. Once retired, Billy rarely loved to travel, and was most happy at home, piddling and enjoying the outdoors. He had a love for fires, ladders and classic country music. Billy never met a stranger and was loved by everyone that had the privilege to chance upon him. He will be greatly missed, but the family knows that heaven has a new resident fire builder, ladder climber, and hope that the angels know a little Hank Williams, Earl, Scruggs, and Hank Snow.
A celebration of Billy's life will be held on Sunday, February 25, 2024 with a visitation from 1-3 pm and the service to follow at Wright and Ferguson Funeral Home,106 Cynthia St, Clinton MS 39056. Interment will follow at Edwards cemetery.
Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, present your request to God, and the peace of God, which transcends all understanding will guard your heart and your mind in Christ Jesus. Finally, brothers and sisters whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable. Anything that is excellent or praise worthy, think about such things, whatever you have learned or received or heard from me or seen me put into practice and the God of peace will be with you.
