Wilber "Sonny" Hill, 74, died Tuesday September 16, 2015 at his home. Visitation will be from 5 to 8pm on Thursday at Wright and Ferguson in Raymond. Funeral services will be on Friday at 10am at the funeral home with burial to follow in County Line Cemetery in Glen Allen, MS.
Mr. Hill was an avid hunter and fisherman. A man of few words, he was a very caring man, a very strong man that loved his family and his Lord. His grandkids were his life, he would light up when they came in the room. He worked as a diesel mechanic for Jackson Coca-Cola and he was a member of Midway Church of Christ.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Charlotte Miller Hill; a daughter, Tonia Odom (Brian); Gayla Stephens (Jody); his son, Scott Hill (Christy); his grandchildren, Justin Hopton, Brady Hopton, Hunter Hill, Reece Odom, Tripp Stephens, Halee Hill, Trevor Stephens, Hayden Hill and Addie Stephens; and five great grandchildren, Jesse Hopton, Jayson Hopton, Easton Hopton, Hadlee Hill and Austin Hill; brothers, Truman Hill (Mary Louise), Donnie Hill (Paula); a sister, Sylvia Sherwood (Larry).
The family would request that memorial contributions be made to the University of Mississippi Medical Center for cancer research.
