Ward Carraway, 88, passed away on March 21, 2016, at Clinton Healthcare in Clinton, MS. A visitation will be held on Thursday, March 24, 2016, from 6 -8 p.m. at Wright and Ferguson Funeral Home in Raymond, MS. A funeral service will be held on Friday, March 25, 2016, at Utica Baptist Church at 2:30 p.m. with a visitation beginning at 1:30 p.m. until service time. A burial will follow at Utica Cemetery.

Ward was born on August 28, 1927, to Minda and E.C. Carraway in Hinds County. He attended Raymond High School where he enjoyed playing football. He also attended Hinds Jr. College. He was an outstanding cotton and cattle farmer. He was a member of Utica Baptist Church for 60 years.

He is survived by his wife, Julia Carraway; his children, Don Carraway, David Carraway, Joe Carraway, and Janelle Carraway; six grandchildren and one great grandchild.
