Wanda Rawson Peeples, 70, of Madison, passed away at Highland Home Nursing Facility on September 24, 2023. Wanda was born in Lawton, Oklahoma, to James Douglas Rawson and Annie Ruth Sutton on December 7, 1952.  Her family moved often due to her father's service in the military including living abroad for 3 years in Germany.  They ultimately settled in Jackson, MS where she graduated from Wingfield High School in 1970 and later attended Hinds Jr. College.

She worked in the banking industry for 43 years.  She began her career with Deposit Guaranty National Bank and worked there for 28 years. She then worked at numerous other banking facilities in multiple management positions during the remainder of her career.  She retired from Trustmark National Bank in 2015.  She was a longtime member of St. Theresa's Catholic Church.

She loved college football, was an avid reader, enjoyed traveling especially on beach trips, but the most joyful moments of her life came from spending time with her family and friends.

She is survived by her husband Eldon Dunlap Peeples of Madison, her mother, Annie Ruth Rawson, 2 children; Eldon Dustin Peeples of Memphis, TN and Alicia Nicole Wood of Brandon, MS, 2 grandchildren; Emma Claire Wood and Hannah Abbigail Allmon (Abbi); 2 sisters Bonnie Shows (Mike), Dee Boyd (Charles), 1 brother Jimmy Rawson (Debbie), 8 nieces and nephews and 14 great nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by her father, James D Rawson.

Visitation will be held at Wright & Ferguson Funeral Home in Flowood on Thursday at 12:00 pm with the funeral service to follow at 2:00 pm. Burial will take place at Lakewood Memorial Cemetery in Clinton after the service.
