“Max,” Wade Thornhill IV, passed away at home on Friday, September 18, 2026. He was 23 years old.

Max was the first son, second child of Tre' and Polly Thornhill, born May 9, 2003. He first lived in Raymond, MS, attending Raymond Elementary and Carver Middle School. The family moved to Clinton, MS, in 2014 where he attended Clinton Public Schools. There, Max was a student of the Automotive Career and Technical program, furthering his love of cars and skills working with his hands. He graduated from Clinton High School in 2021. He then completed the Industrial Maintenance Technology certification at Hinds Community College. Brilliant, hardworking and reliable, Max excelled in this field.

In the fall of 2021, Max Thornhill and Blair Hearn fell in love. Though young love isn’t always true, it was for Max and Blair. They were most often together customizing their cars, fine dining, watching movies or traveling to their favorite destination, St. Croix, U.S. Virgin Islands. One sunny April day in 2025, they took a day trip to a beach closer to home – Gulf Shores, Alabama. That night, a horrible accident took Blair’s life and, in many ways, Max’s heart. In the year and a half that followed, Max’s body recovered from the extensive injuries he’d sustained. He was wrapped in love, support and prayers by so many and he tried so hard. He had some good times – fishing, traveling, becoming an uncle and lots of time with family and friends. He spoke often of possibilities the future held, but in the end his heart and spirit were just too broken. Despite all efforts, he was unable to find his way through this life without Blair. Our sorrow is lessened and we are comforted to know they are together again and their young love will last forever.

A funeral service for Max is scheduled for Monday, September 28 at 2:00 pm at Holy Savior Catholic Church – 714 Lindale Street, Clinton, MS. A visitation hour will precede the service. A graveside service will immediately follow. Max will be laid to rest beside his beautiful Blair at Greenlawn Gardens Cemetery – 191 US Hwy 80, Vicksburg, MS.

Max is survived by his parents, Tre' and Polly Thornhill; his sisters, Quincy Thornhill Garner (Luke) and Baylee Thornhill; his younger brother, Evan Thornhill; his nephew, Bowen Luke Garner; his Nonni, Louise Dillon; aunts, uncles, cousins, and many chosen family and loved ones.

Max is preceded in death by his Pop, Wade Thornhill Jr.; his Gege, Linda Craft Stephens; his Grandpa, Sherman Lee Dillon; his uncle, Daniel Dillon; and his beloved Blair Hearn.

Max’s family would like to thank all who were a part of the efforts to help Max heal, whether through prayer or deed, especially his family members who did everything imaginable to help Max feel better, and Blair’s parents, Chris and Becki Hearn, her sister Lexi, her grand-parents and all her family who truly loved Max as one of their own.
