Voncille Prather, 94, passed away on Tuesday, May 10, 2022 in Clinton, MS. Visitation for Mrs. Prather will be held on Thursday, May 12, 2022 at Morrison Heights Baptist Church from 9:00am to 11:00am followed by a service at 11:00am. A graveside will be held at 3:00pm at Lakewood Memorial Park South.

Mrs. Prather was born on April 25, 1928 in Lincoln County MS to J.C. and Willie White. She spent most of her adult life living around the Jackson area and was a member of Morrison Heights Baptist Church. Voncille had many hobbies from doing word puzzles and crochet to growing African violets. But she was most known for her incredible cooking and especially her biscuits. She also loved watching the MS Braves play baseball and attended games regularly. Mrs. Prather was a devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She will be greatly missed.

Mrs. Prather was preceded in death by her husband of more than 50 years Newman R. "Pete" Prather, her parents, 5 brothers, 1 sister and numerous nieces and nephews.

She is survived by her children Roy Michael Prather of Carrier, MS; Waid Prather (Deborah) of Carthage, MS; Donna "Danni" Singletary (Homer) of Florence, MS; H. Todd Prather (Sharon) of Clinton, MS; 7 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.

The family would like to offer a special thanks to the staff of Clinton Healthcare and the staff of PAX Hospice for the exceptional love and care of Mrs. Prather.
