Vishwanath N. Shenoy, age 62, died peacefully in his home in Clinton, Mississippi on November 18, 2022 surrounded by his immediate family.

He is survived by his wife, Veena Shenoy, daughters Divya and Tanya Shenoy, and son-in-law, Daniel Zarama along with his siblings Taranath (Geeta) Shenoy, Premnath (Uma) Shenoy, and Vandana (Marthu) Pai. He is preceded in death by his parents, Narasimha and Kamala Shenoy.

Vishwanath was born on December 28, 1959 in Mangalore, India. He spent the first 12 years of his life in Mumbai, India and subsequently moved to Mangalore. From a young age, he was mischievious and had an adventurous spirit. In 1977, he began medical school where he met the love of his life and best friend, Veena. They were wed in Mangalore in 1982. In 1988, he and his wife fulfilled their dream of immigrating to the United States where he subsequently completed residency in Internal Medicine and fellowship in Gastroenterology at Wright State University in Dayton, Ohio.

He practiced in Ohio until 2003, after which he and his family made a new home in Mississippi. He worked in Vicksburg, Mississippi with GI Associates until his cancer diagnosis. His exemplary work ethic, compassionate nature, wit, and charm made Vish an excellent physician. He was beloved by his patients and colleagues alike.

In 2018, Vish was diagnosed with a glioblastoma. Despite the dismal prognosis, he was always smiling, optimistic, and determined to live life to the fullest. He immersed himself in playing music, travelling, and spending time with his friends and family. To Vish, no one was a stranger. You could always depend on Vish to be telling a funny story. He was always the life of the party, cracking jokes and making others laugh.

Vish was an extraordinary physician, legendary story teller, skilled musician, and loving husband, son, and father-in law. However, nothing brought him greater joy or pride than being a father. He was happiest in the company of his wife and daughters. His absence in their lives will be forever felt.

A service in his honor will be held on Monday, November 21, 2022  from 2:30-3:30 pm followed by a visitation from 4:00 pm-6:00 pm at Wright and Ferguson Funeral Home in Flowood, Mississippi. All are welcome to attend and celebrate his beautiful life. In lieu of flowers, Vish's family invites you to donate to St. Jude's Research Hospital in his name, a charity close to his heart.
