Joyce Virginia Harrell Traweek, 93, of Raymond, MS died Wednesday, May 14, 2025. Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 17, 1:30 pm-3:30 pm at Raymond Methodist Church in Raymond, MS. Funeral service will immediately follow visitation. Interment to follow at the Raymond Cemetery.

Her beloved home was in Raymond. Virginia was born in Hazelhurst, MS, on April 21, 1932. She graduated from Hazlehurst High School in 1950 and attended Hinds Junior College. She worked for MFC Services, Hinds County Cooperative and the MS Department of Environmental Quality. She was a member of the Raymond United Methodist Church where she served as Church Hostess for more than 20 years. She was also a member of Executive Women's International (EWI) Eastern Star, the Raymond Garden Club and Raymond Culture Club.

Virginia was an avid Gardner. She enjoyed tending her flower beds, yard and garden. Virginia also enjoyed traveling throughout the United States and Canada with her husband, Lewis, attending various Field Trials beginning in the 1950's.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lewis Bond Traweek, Jr., her parents, Van Joe Harrell and Nina Crawford Harrell, sisters, Grace Harrell Walker Rankin and Peggy Harrell Berch, and son, Douglas P. Traweek.

She is survived by her sons Donald (Becky), Ronnie, Kirk (Christine) and daughter, Sonya Teasley (Jay), brother Glen Harrell, and seven (7) grandchildren - Jessica (Alex) Zivic, Stephanie Traweek, Mary V. (Corey) Norwood, Preston  (Hope) Miller, Frank (Sara) Buckley, Madison Teasley (Tyler) Hahn and Alex Teasley, ten (10) great grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

The family would like to take the opportunity to thank all those who helped care for Virginia, especially Jurdene Webster, Maria Johns, Hailee Bryant, Donna Jones, Vina Burkett, Arlillian Turner, Leah Baker, and Dorothy Jean Harris.
