Virginia Ann Hutchison Hannon of Raymond passed away at the age of 87 on Saturday, April 09, 2016. Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm on Monday at Wright and Ferguson in Raymond followed by a service on Tuesday at 10:00 am at the Raymond United Methodist Church. Burial will follow at the Raymond Cemetery.
She was born on May 23, 1928, to J.D. and Lyda Newman Hutchison in Crystal Springs, MS. She attended Central High School and Hinds Community College. During her life time she lived in Jackson, Vicksburg and Raymond. She worked as a floral designer and in retail sales for many years. She loved plants, flowers and anything yellow. She was known to all who knew her as "Lulu", meaning an outstanding example of a particular type of person, one of a kind. She loved people, was a gifted story teller both in spoken and written word. She was also known for her poetry. Her children were her pride and joy and material for many of her stories. Her creative talent was obvious in all she did, cooking, flower arranging, sewing, needlepoint, writing and scrapbooking. She was a long time United Methodist and a member of Raymond United Methodist Church.
She is preceded in death by her parents and two brothers. Her beloved husband, Frank "Duby" Hannon, Sr. passed away in 1971 and she missed him every day for over 44 years. She is survived by her children; Phil (Cheryl) Hannon of Pearl, Neal (Betty) Hannon of Terry, Frank (Jeanette) Hannon of Utica, Jeff (Kim) Hannon, M.D. of Mobile, AL, and Virginia "Ginger" (Will) Carter of Flowood; her grandchildren, Tamra (Richard) Swann of Starkville, Drew Hannon of Jackson, Stephanie (Joe) Schouten of Raleigh, NC, Alisha (Preston) Grace of Byram, Misty (Kevin) Barrett of Terry, Dustin (Taylor) Hannon of Brandon, Kate, Kelly and Jack Hannon of Mobile, AL, and Virginia "Gini" and Carly Carter of Flowood; her great-grandchildren, Becca, Phillip and Porter Swann of Starkville, Susan and Miles Schouten of Raleigh, NC, Lexi and Lindi Grace of Byram, Jordyn, Addisyn and Landyn Barrett of Terry, and Avery Ann Hannon of Brandon.
