Victor Scott Mellon, age 50, of Clinton, MS died peacefully at his home on November 4, 2016, after a long battle with cancer. He was surrounded by his beloved family.
Scott was born on January 10, 1966 in Munich, Germany. He was a lifetime resident of Clinton, MS where he attended public schools and later attended the University of Southern Mississippi in Hattiesburg. He was a member of the Sigma Nu Fraternity.
Scott was preceded in death by his grandparents Vic Montgomery of Edwards, Jerry Montgomery Gibbens of Clinton and Joe and Edna Mellon of Bolton, Uncle Lewis Montgomery of Edwards and Aunt Frances Mellon Weissinger of Clinton. He is survived by his parents Joe and Barbara Mellon of Clinton, Sisters Allison Mellon of Phnom Penh Cambodia and Lisa Mellon Maddox of Franklin, TN, Brother Drew Mellon (Ally) of Jackson. He is also survived by nieces Bella, Anna Claire, and Nadia Mellon and nephews Nash Mellon of Phnom Penh, Cambodia and Payton Maddox of Franklin, TN. Step Grandfather Julian Gibbens of Vicksburg, Uncles Bobby Mellon (Carolyn) and Richard Mellon (Lou Ann) of Bolton, and Charles Weissinger of Clinton. Aunts Kay Montgomery of Edwards, Marty Mellon of Jackson. Cousins Angie Montgomery Zadrozny (CJ) of Edwards, MS, Victor Montgomery (Leigh) of Jonesboro, Arkansas, Elizabeth Templeton (Jim) of Madison, Catherine Sartor (Scott) of Hernando; Joe Weissinger, Tom Weissinger (Jessica) and Mollie Mellon of Atlanta, GA, Fred Weissinger of Moss Point, Donna Weissinger Evans (Mitchel) of Colorado Springs, CO, Paige Mellon Hutchinson (Jeremy) of Bolton and Taylor Mellon (Maris) of Jackson.
Scott had a twenty-three year career as a Respiratory Therapist working at the University of Mississippi Medical Center in the Emergency Room. He is remembered fondly by his colleagues as a man who cared deeply about his job and the patients he served.
