Timothy Dylan Moore, 49, of Jackson, Mississippi passed away in hospice care Tuesday, March 9, 2021, at his parents' home in Clinton.
Tim was born on April 22, 1971, in Galveston, Texas, the second son of Norman Anthony (Tony) and Vicky Marlene (Lankford) Moore. From Galveston, Tim and his family moved to Land o' Lakes, Florida, before settling in Clinton in 1976. In 1989, Tim graduated from Clinton High School, where he excelled as a student, musician, and challenge to his teachers. He then went on to complete his undergraduate work at the University of Mississippi and the University of Strathclyde in Glasgow, Scotland. He graduated magna cum laude, fifth in his class, from the University of Mississippi School of Law, where he served as both Executive Editor and Managing Editor of the Mississippi Law Journal.
As an attorney, Tim was licensed to practice in Mississippi, Louisiana, and New Hampshire. In twenty-five years of law practice, Tim built a reputation as a tenacious, intelligent advocate and litigator, trying more than sixty cases to juries, judges, arbitrators, and administrative agencies. He was honored by Martindale-Hubbell, the leading national legal publication, with the prestigious "AV Preeminent" rating. He was a good lawyer. And thorough.
Tim was known by his family and many friends for his sharp wit; his dedication to his sons Max and Conner; and his love of reading, music, and film, most notably The Big Lebowski. Tim also held a large spot in his heart for dogs, most recently his border collie Chino. Tim's capacity for empathy was vast and he was quick to recognize when someone needed the support of a friend. He was deeply proud of his sons and never missed an opportunity to make them laugh.
Tim is survived by his wife, Paige, and his sons, Max and Conner, of Jackson; parents, Tony and Vicky Moore, of Clinton; brothers Todd Moore, of Southern Pines, North Carolina, and Joel Moore of Denver, Colorado; brothers-in-law Sam Wilkins, Jr., and Rocky Wilkins, of Jackson; several cousins and many nieces and nephews.
Tim's family thanks Hospice Ministries for their kindness and attentive care to Tim in his last days. No services are planned at this time.
