Thomas Brownlee Blair, Sr., 82, of Jackson, MS, passed away on June 12, 2021. Services will be held at Wright and Ferguson in Flowood at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, June 15. Visitation will be prior to the service at 12:00 Noon.
Mr. Blair was born in Jackson, MS on July 11, 1938. He graduated from Murrah High School in 1956 and went on to receive a Bachelor's Degree from Ole Miss in 1961.
He served an 8-year obligation in the U.S. Army Reserve, including 6 months active duty and 4 ½ years active reserves.
Mr. Blair was in the real estate business from 1956-1980. He then went on to work for Southern Farm Bureau Life Insurance Company from 1980 until his retirement in 2003. He and Anne Marie have been members of Christ United Methodist Church since 1970 where he served as an usher, on the administrative board, and on the board of trustees.
His hobbies included hunting, fishing, running, gardening, and golf.
He was preceded in death by his daughter Margaret Blair Gillespie.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Anne Marie Blair; his son Thomas Blair, Jr. (Wendi), and his brother Harry Blair of Fayetteville, AR. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Blair White (Daniel), Lamar Gillespie, Kristen Braasch (Austin), Mollie Blair, and Thomas Blair, III, as well as his great grandchildren, Louis White, Baker White, and John Braasch.
