On February 25,  Rev. Sukumari "Sue" Samuel Michael, went to be with the Lord at the age of 83. Sukumari was born in Bidar, India to the Rev. and Mrs. Jothappa Samuel. After immigrating to the United States, she received several degrees including a Masters of Religious Education.  She received her Masters in Divinity from the North American Baptist Seminary and was soon ordained in the United Methodist Church. Rev. Sue pastored several congregations of the United Methodist Church in South Dakota and Mississippi, where she retired with her husband of nearly 25 years. Rev. Sue was preceded in death by her adored daughter, Shalini "Shelly." She is survived by her husband, Anand Michael, and his devoted children and grandchildren, her son and grandchildren, her cherished younger sister Elizabeth Wolfer, her brothers' dear wives, and numerous faithful cousins, nieces, and nephews. A memorial service celebrating Rev. Sukumari "Sue" Michael will be held on Tuesday, March 8, 2022 at 1:30 pm, with visitation beginning at 11:30 am, at McLaurin Heights Methodist Church in Pearl, MS. Interment will follow at Floral Hills Memory Garden, also in Pearl, MS. Those attending visitation are asked by the family to wear masks. In lieu of flowers, gifts may be sent to the Mississippi Food Network in Rev. Sue's honor.
