Sue Parkman
Pevey
March 24, 1937 – August 27, 2023
Elizabeth Sue Parkman Pevey passed away and went to be with the Lord on August 27, 2023, after a long illness. She was 86 years old. Sue is survived by her beloved husband Gerald; sons Jay, Chris and Greg; five grandchildren, two great grandchildren and her brother Howard.
After having her children, Sue attended Mississippi College and earned a Bachelor's degree and a Master's degree in history. She taught history at Clinton Junior High School and Clinton High School for more than twenty years.
Sue enjoyed life and pursued many interests and hobbies. She was an expert seamstress often creating her own patterns, was a wonderful cook and homemaker, loved to shop for bargains, and most of all, she loved her family. Always fashion conscious, she enjoyed modeling in her younger years at several stores in downtown Jackson. One of the high points of Sue's life was becoming what she called a "movie star," appearing in numerous films including O BROTHER WHERE ART THOU, A TIME TO KILL, PELICAN BRIEF and BIG BAD KILL, in which she had a speaking role. Sue and Gerald enjoyed ballroom dancing and made many friends. They also loved to travel. At the top of the list were several trips to Europe and several Caribbean cruises.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday, August 31, at 10:00am at the Clinton Cemetery.
