Stanley E. Comfort, age 79, surrounded by family, passed away peacefully on February 5, 2026 at University Medical Center, after a battle with cancer.

Born and raised in Jackson, Mississippi to James and Sadie Comfort. He spent his working days doing carpenter work. Stanley had a love for his woodworking, collecting baseball cards, and playing or umpiring softball.

Stanley is survived by his niece, Kim Darrow (Wayne), nephew, Mike Dickson (Nanette), great nieces, Kimberly Beard (Jon), Abby Darrow (Wes), Allison Torrence (Nick), Holly Lee (Corey), great nephews, Michael Beard, Tyler Beard (Hannah) and a number of cousins.

He is preceded in death by his dad, James Comfort, mom, Sadie Comfort, and sister Betty Comfort Dickson Gauthier.

A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 21, 2026 at Lakewood Memorial Park.
