Sharron Lee Stewart Burch, age 73, passed away peacefully at her home in Brandon, MS, surrounded by her family on Saturday, September 29, 2018. She was born on December 19, 1944 in Washington, DC to David and Ruthanna (Craig) Stewart. Sharron lived in Pascagoula, MS and was a 1962 graduate of Pascagoula High School. She attended Vanderbilt University where she received her Bachelor's Degree in Nursing in 1966. She also received her Master's Degree in Nursing from the University of Mississippi Medical Center in 1975.
On August 27,1966 she married her college sweetheart Donald V. Burch. She worked as a nurse at Druid City Hospital in Tuscaloosa, AL when they were first married and put Don through the University of Alabama School of Law. Years later she taught nursing at Jeff Davis and Hinds Community College. She also worked for the State Health Department and for Medicaid.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 52 years, Don; daughter, Elizabeth Banks (Al) of Brandon, MS, and son, Craig (Kristin) of The Woodlands, TX. She is the cherished "Oma" to her 4 grandsons, David, Andrew, Ben and Joseph and aunt to several nieces and nephews. She also leaves behind her brothers, David Stewart (Sam) and Jim Stewart (LeeAnn), sister, Carolyn Monroe and sisters-in-law, Barbara Herring and Marilyn (Don) Propes. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 6, 2018 at 11:00 am at St. Stephen's Anglican Church located at 5049 Lakeland Drive in Flowood, MS 39232. The family will greet friends at church on Saturday from 10:00 am until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, please make a memorial donation to St. Stephen's.
