Shannon Williams Gray Whitehead of Raymond, MS went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, August 6, 2016. She was 73.
Visitation will be on Monday, August 8, 2016 from 5-7pm and also on Tuesday, August 9, 2016 from 2-3pm at Wright & Ferguson Funeral Home in Clinton MS. Funeral services will be at 3pm on Tuesday, August 9, 2016 at Wright & Ferguson Funeral Home with Bro. John Gordon officiating. Burial will follow at Salem Baptist Church Cemetery.
Mrs. Whitehead was born in Learned, MS on December 31, 1942 to the late George Jasper & Rosalee Williams. Shannon was one of 5 children. She lived all her life in Hinds County, MS.
She graduated from Raymond High School and became a cosmetologist. She owned her own hair salon for many years. Shannon was a devoted mother and member of Salem Baptist Church in Learned, MS.
Preceding her in death was her husband, Charles Gray. She is also preceded by her parents and two brothers, Homer (Pete) Williams and Mike Williams.
She is survived by her husband: Merrill Whitehead, Three sons: Brent Gray, Jeff (Barbara) Gray, and Michael (Cheryl) Gray, 2 step-sons: Woody Whitehead and Andy Whitehead. Two brothers: Gregg (Lise) Williams and Leonard (Betty) Williams, one sister-in-law: Shirley Williams, and one brother-in-law: Doyle Ray (Ollene) Whitehead. Grandchildren: Lydia (Ben) Dungan, Heather Gray (their mother, Connie Allen), John Gray, Eli Gray, Tucker Gray, Brett Whitehead, Paige (Brandon) Butler, and Kaelyn (Dakota) Quaze. Great-Grandchildren - Whitney Quaze and Gabrielle Quaze. There are also many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.
