Sarah Rawson

Sarah Rawson was born October 10, 1948, to H.L. (Lacy) and Beatrice Stephens and passed away unexpectedly in her home in Flowood, MS, on October 23, 2026. Sarah was a lifelong faithful member of Flowood Baptist Church. She was a Sunday School teacher, encourager, devoted prayer warrior, and committed student of the Bible. She loved her church family and the many treasured friends she made there and throughout her life. After graduating from Pearl High School, she worked several years as a beautician at Mississippi State Hospital and later began to keep children in her home. Children were very special to Sarah. She taught children's Sunday School for many years and wrote a children's book, "The Small Family, A Story of Squirrels," which was published in 2016. She loved her family and had lots of photo albums, framed photos and mementos to commemorate those special relationships. She loved the color purple and had a large collection of angels. Sarah was a special lady and will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved her.

Sarah was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 36 years, Hoyt Rawson, children Lucinda and Stephen Rawson, brothers Allen Stephens and Lester Stephens, sister Telatha Rawson, and sister-in-law Omega Stephens. She is survived by her sister-in-law Jane Stephens, daughter-in-law Virginia Rawson, nieces Shanda Stephens and Ashlee (Michael) Gregory, nephews Hubbard (Angie) Stephens, Dudley (Stefania) Stephens, Walt (Missy) Stephens, Matt (Amy) Stephens, a number of special great-nieces and -nephews and cousins, and step-grandchildren Kasey Wigley and Justin Brasher and their families.
