Sara Lee Sylvester Clark, 83, passed away on May 30, 2015 at Clinton Heatlhcare. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 3, 2015 from 6-8 pm at Wright & Ferguson Funeral Home in Clinton. Funeral services will be on Thursday, June 4, 2015 at Wildwood Baptist Church at 10 am with a visitation one hour prior to service. A graveside service will at 4 pm in Tremont, MS at Mount Pleasant United Methodist Church Cemetery.

Sara was born in Catchings in Sharkey County on September 6, 1931. She married James (Jimmy) Ross Clark on July 16, 1948. She graduated from Livingston State University in Livingston, Alabama with a Bachelor's Degree in history. She taught school and was a librarian at Raymond Library for a while. She retired from the Mississippi Department of Archives and History where she was a historian.

Sara was a talented seamstress and pianist. She had been the church pianist at different churches where she had been a member. She enjoyed teaching children's and Young Peoples' Sunday school classes in the past. At the time of her death, she was a member of Wildwood Baptist Church in Clinton. She loved God, her family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Jimmy; a daughter, Betty Ann Clark; and a son, James Ross Clark, Jr (Ross).

She is survived by a daughter, Margaret Turnbow of Forney, TX; granddaughters, Libby Collegan of Clinton and Camille Liles of Irmo, South Carolina; grandsons, Roy J. Duckworth of Jackson and Mitchell Daniels of Lewisville, TX; 4 great-grandchildren; a brother, Walter Sylvester; a sister, Doris S. Whitney; two brothers-in-law, Jerry Clark and Jack Clark; two sisters-in-law, Lucille Whitworth and Dianne Hays; and many nieces and nephews.
