The quote given by her classmates that best described her was "Her happy smile is the herold to a happy friendly heart." Sandra was also an infamous Gayfer Girl known for her creativity and fashion sense.
Sandra was a brilliant mathematician. She graduated from Mississippi College with a degree in Accountancy in 1977. Soon thereafter, she began her career as an accountant at the State Building Commission in Jackson. After several years of raising her children at home, Sandra continued her career working for the Clinton Public School District until retirement.
Sandra and Kenny were high school sweethearts who married on January 15, 1977. The two resided in Clinton, MS and then moved to Flowood, MS later in their life together. She was an incredibly loving wife, mother, sister, and friend to many. She was happiest when surrounded by her family, especially her daughters and grandchildren.
She was "queen of the sewing machine," making many of her own clothes and eventually her daughters' outfits way into their high school and college years. She was an amazing artist, an excellent baker, and a caring and influential community figure in the city of Clinton. She is best remembered as a Girl Scout Troop leader, Clinton Public School volunteer/homeroom mom, cheer mom, and Attache' Booster Club Officer. Sandra also loved watching CHS Friday Night Lights with her husband, Kenny, which later turned into Tailgating Saturdays watching Mississippi State football in Starkville.
A devoted Christian, Sandra lived a life full of faith, joy, and love. She and her husband, Kenny, cherished simple pleasures of the outdoors, whether it was swinging on the porch, camping in the mountains, or relaxing by the beach. They both had a passion for travel and looked forward to exploring new places while making lasting memories. Sandra also enjoyed lunching with the Wingfield/McCluer ladies monthly. Christmas was Sandra's favorite time of year, and she loved decorating for the holidays and bringing the spirit of the season to life. Above all, Sandra was a dedicated wife and mother who spent countless hours cheering on her children in their sports and various activities, always offering unwavering support and encouragement. Sandra's love for her family and friends was boundless, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew her. She was silly, kind, affectionate, smart, down to earth, and a great listener. Affectionately called Mimi by her grandchildren that loved her so much, she had a way of making each of them feel special. Whether it was through her warm hugs, kind words, or her playful spirit, Mimi's genuine nature touched the lives of many, and her memory will always be cherished by those who knew her.
