Samuel Deese Hall, 83, died Thursday, October 27, 2016, at Baptist Medical Center. Visitation will be held from 12 to 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, October 29, 2016, at Wright & Ferguson Funeral Home in Clinton, with the service to follow in the chapel.
Born in Union county to Howard and Mary Kate Hall and raised in Ellistown, MS, Mr. Hall graduated from Sherman High School. He served in the Army and received his landscape architecture degree from Mississippi State University. He was the Superintendent of Campus and Grounds at Mississippi College for thirty years and was a member of First Baptist Church, Clinton. He served as the Executive Director of the Mississippi Charity Horse Show for many years, featuring Tennessee Walking Horses, a breed he loved. An avid hunter, he enjoyed pheasant hunting with friends in South Dakota.
Mr. Hall was preceded in death by his wife, Ann Tarrant Hall, and his daughter, Gigi Hall Wall. He is survived by his daughters Lisa Edwards (Ted) of Clinton and Joanna Mixon (Barry) of Goose Creek, SC; grandchildren, Meredith Collins (McLean), Anna Ketchum (Tye), David Mixon (Kristina), Melanie Wyndham (Frank), Brooks Edwards, and Chase Wall; and four great granddaughters.
