Sammie Parker Howell, 94, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 8, 2024, at his home in Brandon, MS.  A graveside service will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, July 13, 2024, at Vanderford Cemetery in Rienzi, MS.

Mr. Howell is survived by his children     , Leah Diane Howell; Sammie Parker "Rusty" Howell, Jr.; John Martin "Johnny" Howell; and Richard Mark Howell (Melinda); grandchildren, Joshua Martin "Josh" Howell (Hilary); Jinnie Lee Jellema (Chris); John Andrew "Andy" Howell; Richard Matthew "Matt" Howell (Alisha); Justin Allen Reynolds; Kyle James Reynolds; and Logan Michael Reynolds; great-grandchildren, Rinoa, Hazel, Bella, Harlie, Jett, Carsen, Paisley and Presley.

He is preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, Leah Pauline; his mother and father, Lillie Mae and Sammie Martin Howell; one sister, Dorothy Mae Lehman; and one half-brother, William Arvis Crowder.

Mr. Howell was born in Shaw, MS and became one of Greenwood's finest carpenters.  He served his country during two terms in the United States Navy ending in 1953.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Wounded Warriors and Tunnel to Towers.
