Sam Milton, 83, died Monday, February 20, 2017 at Veterans Administration Hospital. Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM on Friday February 24, 2017 at Wright and Ferguson Funeral Home in Raymond and again on Saturday from 9:30 AM until 10:30 AM at Hinds Independent Methodist Church with burial following in the church cemetery.
Mr. Milton was preceded in death by his parents, Samuel M. and Eva Louise Milton, and a great grandson, Eric Kolton Houpt. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. Before his retirement, Mr. Milton was a real estate developer in Clinton and Jackson. During his retirement years, he was an avid amateur field trial competitor. He was also preceded in death by his beloved dog, FC-AFC Fordland's Bored Out Ford and 2011 Retriever Hall of Fame inductee. Mr. Milton is survived by his wife of 61 years, Helen Milton; five children, Mike Milton (Norma), Mark Milton (Angie), Eva Horne (Greg), Susan Dowdy and Lane Harper (Jody); nineteen grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
