Ruth Ashley McDonald, 98, died Wednesday, February 4, 2015 at Central Mississippi Medical Center. Visitation will begin at 9:00 am on Friday, February 6, 2015 followed by funeral services at 10:00 am in the chapel of Wright and Ferguson in Clinton. Burial will follow in the Clinton Cemetery.

Ruth McDonald was born in Vicksburg, MS on June 11, 1916. After receiving her degree from Mississippi College, she taught school in Jonestown, MS. A few years later she moved to Chattanooga, TN to work for TVA where she met her husband Bill McDonald. Bill's work involved many moves and Ruth made each move a family adventure. They eventually retired to Clinton which was Ruth's childhood home.

Survivors include her son, Robert A. McDonald (Barbara); her daughter, Anne Coleman (Hugh); her sister, Jacquelin Ashley; her grandchildren, Paul McDonald (Shannon), Laura McDonald (J.T.), Matthew Coleman (Jessica), Andrew Coleman (Audra), and Jeff Coleman; and her great grandchildren, Robin Ellis, Marin Ellis and William Coleman.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions should be made to the First United Methodist Church, 100 Mt. Salus Road, Clinton, MS 39056.
