Ruby Hutchins (Shearer) McNeil, 92, passed away Wednesday, March 12, 2025, at Fountainview Alzheimer's Center in Atlanta, GA.  Visitation will be at Wright and Ferguson Funeral Home in Raymond on Saturday, July 26th at 10:00am with memorial services at 12:00pm in the funeral home Chapel.

Ruby lived in Raymond, MS most of her life and called it home.  She graduated from Raymond High School and began her working career with the Ford dealership in Raymond where she worked for almost 40 years as the bookkeeper.  She worked until retirement at Mississippi Valley Gas in Jackson.

She married Don Shearer in June of 1959 and lived in Raymond where they raised their three children, Danny, Donna and Diane, until Don's death in December of 1988.

She married Carroll McNeil in January of 1997.

Ruby was a devoted sister, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Sam B. and Lucile S. Hutchins; sisters, Mary Emma Coleman and Virgie Brister; husbands, Daniel Donovan "Don" Shearer, Sr. and Vernon Carroll McNeil; son, Daniel Donovan "Danny" Shearer, Jr.; and grandson, Andrew Ryan "Drew" Gordon.

She is survived by her daughter, Diane S. Miner and her husband, Jeffrey, and their children, Donovan and Ashley Miner of Atlanta, GA; daughter, Donna Shearer and her husband, Alan Gordon of Jackson; granddaughter, Jaclynn "Jackie" G. Hinton of Ocean Springs and her children, Mackenzie, Kennedy and Adele; sisters, Doris Stewart of Pearland, TX and Nancy Noel of Weaverville, NC.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Alzheimer's Association Mississippi Chapter or Alzheimer's Association national network.
