Rose graduated from high school early and went to Emory University School of Nursing in Atlanta. She also did a semester at Columbia University in New York City and the New Orleans Campus of LSU.

She spent most of her time at Hinds General and retired from nursing in 1992. She loved being a nurse because she loved caring for others.

Rose had a servant heart and was very generous. She had a great attitude, and always looked for the best in life and in others. She had a deep and abiding faith that kept her very steady in all the ups and downs of life.
