Rose Kathryn "Kathy" Jirikowic passed away at home on Sunday, May 22, 2016 at the age of 84. She was the beloved wife of Edward John Jirikowic, Jr. She was born in Rienzi, MS and lived most of her life as a resident of Jackson, MS.

Kathy was the mother of George Marshall Burgess, Jr., deceased, (Gwen Cook Burgess), and of Anita Colleen Shales (Roger, Jr.). She was the proud grandmother of Marshall Fielding Burgess (Lisa), Jacob Duke Burgess, Julian Day Shales and Samantha Eden Shales and great grandmother of Georgia Grace Burgess. She was preceded in death also by her siblings: JoAnn and Julian, survived by her siblings: Keith, Greg, Loretta and Gail.

Kathy was a real estate agent in Jackson for over thirty years. She loved to travel as much as possible. She and Ed enriched the lives of their children and grandchildren by including them on many family vacations around the U.S. and in Canada. Kathy was an excellent cook and passed her love of cooking on to both of her children and her grandchildren.

Kathy will be dearly missed by her family and friends, but we take comfort in knowing that now she can finally rest and is at peace.
