Robert William (Bobby) Morris, 80, died June 21, 2020. He was born in Shaw, MS to Rayford Holt Morris and Estelle Cullum Morris. After Bobby's family moved from Shaw, they lived on a small farm on Sunflower Plantation in Sunflower County, MS. He graduated from Drew High School in 1958. Bobby proudly served in the MS National Guard for 8 years, worked for the Mississippi Highway Department for 8 years, and retired from Delta State University in Cleveland, MS after 30 years.

Bobby was an avid hunter who loved the outdoors. Most of his days were spent outside enjoying nature and the local wildlife that frequented his backyard. Bobby and his wife Sherry adopted several shelter animals over the years and are supporters of animal rescue groups around the area.

Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Sherry O'Neal Morris of Jackson, MS.; his son, Wayne Morris of Troy, AL; his daughter, Lynda Morris Edwards (Wayne) of Hernando, MS; his grandchildren Anna Grace and Emery Edwards of Hernando, MS, and Melissa Morris of Troy, AL; his brother Phillip Morris (Sandra) of Greenville, MS.; his brother, Ralph Morris (Stella) of Rough and Ready, CA.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Rayford and Estelle Morris; his brothers, Pat Morris and J.C. Morris; his sisters, Donnis Ingram and Laverne Walling.

A private graveside service will be held on Tuesday June 23, 2020 at Crestview Memorial Gardens.
