Robert Sydney "Syd" Torrence, 54, passed away on Wednesday, June 1, 2022 at his home with his common law wife, LeAnn and his beloved cousin, Rachelle Torrence by his side.

Syd was born on November 20, 1967 in New Orleans, LA to his parents, Oley and Barbara and moved to Pearl at an early age and graduated from Brandon Academy where he excelled in track and football.

While it is no secret that Syd had his problems with the law and being a hell raiser since 2015, he made every effort to be the best person he could be. In spite of everything, he loved his children and grandchildren with all his heart and he longed for mended relationships with his kids.

Syd is survived by his children, Nathan Torrence, Dannan Kapler, Reed Torrence from his first wife, Tracey and Whitney Robinson, Matthew Torrence and Brendon Torrence by his second wife, LeAnn Peoples; eleven grandchildren; his brother, Cliff Torrence; and was preceded in death by his parents, Oley and Barbara Torrence.

A memorial service will be held at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, June 8, 2022 at Wright & Ferguson Funeral Home in Flowood with visitation beginning at 4 before the service.
