Robert Gerald Smith, was employed with the Hinds County Sheriff's Department Office, died Sunday. February 18, 2018. Visitation is at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, February 21, 2018 at Wright & Ferguson Funeral Home in Flowood with funeral service following at 12:00 p.m. in the chapel of the funeral home with burial at Lakewood Memorial Park on Clinton Boulevard, Jackson, MS.

Robert was born June 15, 1940, to Huie and Lola Smith of Laurel, MS. He was married to Martha Perkins Smith and was a member of Brandon Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife; daughter, Donna S. Broyles and son- in- law, Scott Broyles of Little Rock, AR and daughter, Tanya S. Thompson and son- in- law Allyn Thompson of Brandon, MS; brothers, Rayvon Smith of Jackson, Ronnie Smith (Jane) of Cordova, TN, sister, O'Nell Richards of Ponchatoula, LA; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by brothers, H. L. Smith, Wilson Smith and Wilmon Smith.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the Brandon Baptist Church Building Fund, 100 Brandon Baptist Drive, Brandon, MS 39042.
