Mr. Robert Charles McCune was born on June 23, 1954 in Vicksburg, Mississippi. He entered into eternal rest, April 14, 2022 in Jackson, Mississippi. Robert grew up in Edwards, Mississippi. He received Christ as his savior at a young age and attended Friendship Baptist Church on Mt. Moriah Road in Edwards, MS with his beloved grandmother Millie White. Later in life, Robert became a member of King Solomon Baptist Church in Los Angeles, California where he faithfully attended with his aunts Willie Mae Brown and Christine Williams. He later joined St. Mary, Star of the Sea of Oceanside, CA where he served as an usher. Robert played basketball at
Hinds AHS before joining the Army with the encouragement of our mom. Robert joined the Army at an early age, Robert served various positions such as a Staff Sergeant, Chief Warrant
Officer II as well as serving in the California Army National Guard. Robert was very proud to be a part of something great. His passion for the military flowed into his everyday life; one would often witness him giving a hand salute upon greeting family, friends and strangers alike.
Robert's love and commitment to serve our country led him to receive various honorable decorations, medals, badges, citations and campaign ribbons: National Defense Service Medal

Army Achievement Medal Good Conduct Medal – Army – 3rd Award Expert Badge with M-16 Rifle Bar. He was preceded in death by his wife Loretta Marie Leilani Cabebe McCune, grandfather Mr. Floyd McCune, grandmother Millie Bland White, father Mr. Robert Allen, mother Mrs. Mildred Jean Yarbrough, uncle Mr. Leon Goldsberry and sisters Ms. Linda McCune and Betty Mae Yarbrough. Left to cherish his memories: sons Phillip McCune (Stephanie) of Garland, TX and F. Andre McCune (Christine) of Missouri City, TX; daughter Marquita McCune Murray (Reggie) of Tyler, TX; three grandchildren: Kristopher McCune, Shalecia McCune, Zachery McCune and one great grandson, LaKadon McCune; brothers: Willie McCune
of Chesapeake, VA, Donald McCune of Jackson, MS, Bloomfield Yarbrough (Sharon) of Raymond, MS and Robert Yarbrough (Janet) of New Orleans, LA; sister, Sharon Moman, of Clinton, MS; aunts Willie Mae Brown of Los Angeles CA, Christine Smith of Gardena, CA, Patricia White Hill of Jackson, MS uncle, Tommy James Goldsberry of Jackson, MS.
A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, adopted relationships with many who he called a friend and a brother are also left to mourn his passing.
