It is with great personal sorrow but joy in knowing the Lord, the family of Robert B "Bobby" Langston, III shares he went home to be with the Lord on the morning of September 17, 2021.
As the eldest of five children growing up in Raymond, Bobby worked the fields with his father. It wasn't unusual to find Bobby on a tractor til dark and back in the fields at dawn. When he wasn't working, he was with one or more of the many friends he made and kept throughout the years. Bobby treasured those relationships and worked diligently to maintain them over the years. As much as Bobby loved his friends, he loved his family more. He loved being a husband to his beautiful bride of 46 years, Louanne W. Langston, a Daddy to Bethany and Jamie, and an "Obby" to Case! Bobby lived for the moments when he and his Case could do "guy" stuff like ride four wheelers, big tractors, and trucks. Especially after he retired and went back to working in cotton, Obby loved to show Case around the gin.
Bobby was a lifetime member of First Baptist Church of Raymond where he served in a variety of roles from Deacon to Security, as well as a host of other teams working on projects in the community. He was also an active member in his community of Raymond that he loved dearly participating in many Country Fair plannings to 5K's, and helping keep the Raymond Pool a fun place for all of us kids while growing up in town.
Bobby was also an active member of the Raymond Masonic Lodge #628 and Christian Motorcycle Club. He cherished all his friendships formed through those organizations.
Robert B "Bobby" Langston III is survived by his wife of forty-six years Louanne Woodard Langston, daughters Bethany (Thomas) Langston Stubblefield and Jamie (Robert) Langston James; grandson Case; brother Vernon (Tammie) Langston, brother in law Rick McKissack sisters Jan Langston Jackson (Ross Newland) and Martha Langston Young; and a host of nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by both his mother and father, Robert and Annie Jane Langston, his sister Nita Langston McKissack, and brother in law Joe Jackson, as well as closest friends and other dear families.
Memorials can be made to the Robert B. and Annie Jane Langston Scholarship fund at Hinds Foundation.
