ROBERT EDWARD "ED" BRUNDAGE
Robert Edward Brundage, Ed to friends & family, passed away at his home in Brandon on Sunday, April 7th after battling a brain tumor for two years. He was 55.
Ed was born in Charlottesville, Virginia on January 1st, 1969 to Robert and Marjorie Brundage. He lived the majority of his younger years in Round Rock, Texas. He married Michelle Ellington on July 11th, 2003 in Eureka Springs, Arkansas.
Ed was a former member of the Texas Army National Guard. He received his Associate of Applied Science in Paramedic Technology at Austin Community College, Austin, Texas in 1992. He was a paramedic with American Medical Response (AMR) in the Jackson area for 30 years. Ed excelled at his work, being a natural caregiver on and off the job. He was a shooting sports enthusiast, and an excellent marksman. When not working as a paramedic, he could often be found at the range or hanging out at Guns-n-Gear in Gluckstadt, owned by his close friend Hunter Sartain.
Ed was generous to a fault and has left an indelible mark on family and friends. He was a big man with a big heart, who never had a harsh word for anyone. Most of all, Ed was a very devoted husband to his wife, Michelle. He could often be heard saying "hey, good lookin'" whenever he saw her.
Ed was one of a kind. As Bruce Springsteen once wrote:
"Well they built the Titanic to be one of a kind, but many ships have ruled the seas
They built the Eiffel Tower to stand alone, but they could build another if you please
The Taj Mahal, the pyramids of Egypt, are unique I suppose
But when they built you, brother, they broke the mold…"
Ed is survived by his wife of 20 years, Myra Michelle Brundage, his parents, Robert and Marjorie Brundage, one sibling, Kevin Brundage (Amber), two nephews and three nieces.
A service to celebrate Ed's life will be held on Sunday April 28 at 2:00pm with a visitation beginning at 1:00pm at Wright and Ferguson Funeral Home in Flowood.
