Robert George Brummett Jr.
April 7, 1940 – January 14, 2026
Robert George Brummett Jr., born April 7, 1940, passed away on January 14, 2026, leaving behind a legacy full of laughter, love, and unforgettable stories. A beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, Robert was the kind of man who could walk into a room and instantly brighten it, usually with a grin, a perfectly timed joke, or a mischievous sparkle in his eye.
Robert proudly served in the United States Navy as tactical support aboard the USS Hornet, a role he carried with honor and dedication. After completing his military service, he continued his life of service through his work with Jackson Public Schools, where he spent years supporting his community and making an impact long after his uniform was put away.
Outside of work, Robert had passions that matched his personality, bold, fascinating, and a little adventurous. He was an avid gun and knife collector, always appreciating craftsmanship and history. But more than anything, Robert was a true people person. He loved deeply, laughed loudly, and made sure everyone around him felt seen, welcomed, and entertained.
Robert was preceded in death by his loving wife, Virginia Adams Brummett, whom he loved dearly and now joins once again.
He is survived by his two daughters, Susan R. Brummett and Bridgette Brummett Nolen (Johnny); his grandchildren Daniel R. Nolen (Mallori), Victoria L. Carr (Jason), and Lauren S. Lord; and his great-grandchildren Liam Nolen, Sophia Truman, Collins Carr, and Jax Nolen, all of whom brought him immense pride and joy.
A Celebration of Life will be planned and announced at a later time.
Robert will be remembered for his quick wit, larger-than-life presence, and the way he made life feel lighter just by being in it. His family will carry forward his humor, his love, and the unforgettable spark that made him truly one of a kind.
