Obituary

Richard C. Smith, 82 of Clinton, Mississippi, died on Friday, September 18, 2015, in Natchez, Mississippi.

Born Saturday, October 29, 1932 in Utica, Mississippi, he was the son of the late Carl Smith and late Delia Smith.
He was a member of First Baptist Church of Clinton where he served in many positions including Deacon. He will be remembered for serving our Lord as a faithful layman. He worked 40 years as a clerk for the Railroad and loved volunteering with the Boy Scouts of America. Richard was a loving husband and father and will be missed by all that knew him.

Surviving are wife: Mary Elaine Smith; sons: William Smith (Melanie), Perry Smith and Carl Smith (Martha); daughters: Caroline Resch (Tony) and Debra Smith; sister, Martha Anne Alford (Roger); 9 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by son, David Smith and daughter, Margaret Elizabeth Smith.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00AM on Monday September 21, 2015 at First Baptist Church of Clinton with Bro. Paul Cassibry and Bro. Ramey Hankins officiating. Interment will be in the Bolton Cemetery in Bolton, MS.

The family will receive friends from 4:00PM to 6:00PM on Sunday September 20, 2015 at Wright & Ferguson Funeral Home, 106 Cynthia Street, Clinton, Mississippi, and one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday.
