Richard Edwin Mort, born September 12, 1940, passed away after a brief illness on February 14, 2025. he was born in Los Angeles, California to Edwin and Virginia Mort.
Richard served his country in the United States Air Force and later continued his career as an engineer with the United States Navy until retirement.
On July 10, 1976, Richard married the love of his life, Sharon Walden. After years of work and travel, they settled in Clinton, Mississippi, in 2005. Richard spent his final years at Clinton Healthcare nursing home with his wife by his side until her passing in 2023.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Sharon and brother Ron.

Richard's remains, along with those of his wife Sharon, will be interred at the Mississippi Veterans Cemetery in newton, MS, during a private ceremony at a later date.
