Richard Lee Cockroft, Known to his loved ones as Richie, passed away on September 10, 2023, at the age of 59 in Clinton, MS. Born on June 6, 1964 in Rota, Spain, Richie brought joy and humor to those around him throughout his life.

Richie was a man who lived life to the fullest. He had a strong work ethic and an equally strong play hard side. Music was his passion and he could often be found jamming on his guitars or rocking to tunes while whooping butt at the foosball table. Fishing was another pastime that brought him peace and happiness. However, it was Richie's giving nature that truly defined him. He was always ready to lend a healing hand to anyone in need, including animals, leaving a lasting impact on those he touched.

He is survived by his beloved wife Kaye, His mother Fran, his brother Don (Susan), and his sister Wanda (Jeff) Monk. Richie's nieces Stephanie (Joshua) Wilson and Mikaela (Jonathan) Harris will also cherish his memory. He was preceded in death by his father, Jerry Cockroft.

A celebration of Richie's life will be held on Thursday, September 14, 2023 at Wright and Ferguson Funeral Home in Clinton, MS. Visitation will take place from 5:00pm to 6:30pm followed by a Celebration of life at 6:30pm. The caring staff of Wright and Ferguson will be assisting with the arrangements,

In memory of Richie, the family kindly requests that contributions be made to an animal shelter of their choice. Richie's love for animals was evident throughout his life, and supporting this cause would be a meaningful way to honor his memory.
