Rhonda Caryl
Jones
May 2, 1967 – December 23, 2024
Rhonda Caryl Jones, 57, of Flora, MS, passed away at home December 23, 2024, surrounded by family.
She was born in Hot Springs, Arkansas on May 2, 1967, to Betty and Fred Cargil. Rhonda played the piano for church and was in the band and the color guard, playing the clarinet and the saxophone.
On January 7, 1983, she married Samuel Jones in the Bentonia Courthouse. She worked as an account specialist in Jackson, and as treasurer and bookkeeper for her church for the last several years. Her hobbies includes rock hunting, jewelry making, cross stitching, painting, gardening, and housekeeping. She loved fashion and anything sparkly, including nails designs.
Rhonda was an exceptional woman. Her kindness towards others was unfailing. She loved being outdoors, whether collecting agates and petrified wood, tending to her flowers, or caring for her animals. She was sassy and outspoken. She loved to read and complete puzzles in her free time. She had a passion for making jewelry, as, she loved bling and all things shiny. She was devoted to her family and her pets. She had a special love for her chickens. She took pride in everything she did from raising her children, working on her house, to working on her crafts. This wonderful woman was exceptionally strong and fought hard for those she loved and what she believed in. We are all blessed to have been granted the opportunity to have shared time and space with her. As long as we keep the lessons she taught us and the memories we have with her close to our hearts, she will always be with us.
Rhonda was preceded in death by her father, Fred Garnet Cargil. She is survived by her husband, Samuel Jones; children, Susan Welborn, Heather Jones, Crystal Arnold, and Kelsey Jones; grandchildren, Kaden Jordan, Franklin Jones, and Aaron Arnold, II; her mother, Betty Cargil; and her sister, Amy Cargil.
