Retired Brigadier General James Clifton "Cliff" Coleman, 63, of Clinton passed away on January 17, 2017. Visitation will be held at FBC Clinton on January 20, 2017, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Funeral Services will take place at FBC Clinton on January 21, 2017, at 10:00 AM with a graveside service to follow at Clinton Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife, Beverly Hardy Coleman; their three sons as well as their spouses and children--Senior Master Sergeant Conner Coleman and Julie (Caitlyn, 12, and Mason, 10), Dr. Corey Coleman and Jessica (William, 6, Harrison, 5, Harper, 3, and Elizabeth, 1), and Mr. Cameron Coleman and Kristina; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. James M. Coleman of Clinton; and his brother and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Jay M. Coleman of Madison, along with their children, Mr. J. Hunter Coleman and Ms. Mallory Coleman.
Cliff was born to James and Jaunie Coleman in Memphis, TN in 1953. He was raised in Senatobia, MS and Clinton, MS. After graduating Clinton High School in 1971 he subsequently completed undergraduate and graduate studies in Chemistry at Mississippi College and University of Southern Mississippi respectively.
He married Beverly Hardy in 1977. He served on active duty in the United States Army for 6 years before entering the Mississippi Army National Guard from which he retired in 2008 at the rank of Brigadier General. For over three decades he worked in the field of medical device sales, primarily for Bayer. After retiring from Bayer and the Mississippi Army National Guard he worked part time as a real estate broker and in retail sales for Orvis in Ridgeland, MS. He attended First Baptist Church in Clinton for over three decades where he served as a deacon.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to UMMC University Heart Development Fund.
