Renee J. Burt, 64, passed away on Sunday, August 14, 2016. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 17, 2016 from 5 to 8 p.m. at Wright & Ferguson Funeral Home in Clinton, MS. Visitation will also be held on Thursday, August 18, 2016 from 9 to 10:15 a.m. with a graveside to follow at 10:30 a.m. at Clinton Cemetery. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, August 18, 2016, at 12 noon at Wells United Methodist Church in Jackson, MS.

Renee was born on March 28, 1952 in Jackson, MS. She loved to read and loved gardening. It gave her great pleasure to enjoy a meal with vegetables she had grown herself. She also loved to cook and bake with her specialty being that awesome banana caramel pie. She was a caring and compassionate lady that had a special place in her heart for the elderly, the disabled, children, animals and yes, even bugs. She felt all life was sacred regardless of the creature it may be. She lived her life always feeling the need to take care of others, often times in spite of her own needs. This was a part of her spiritual connection with the Holy Spirit that was special and became even stronger as the onset of this brutal disease took its toll on her. Eventually she lost the battle with cancer, but she won the war against death and we all know that she is now in heaven busy taking care of anything the lord would ask of her, and enjoying every minute of it.

She is survived by her husband of 39 years, Jim Burt; a daughter, Amanda Burt; two sons, Steven Burt and Skyler Burt; two grandchildren and one great grandchild.
